BRCA Board Minutes - September 18, 2017

At our September meeting at Erik Klee’s house we discussed the Vacation Rental issue (a vacation rental in Sonoma County is any rental of less than 30 days except rental of one bedroom while the owner is present). The owners of the two Bennett Ridge properties with Vacation Rental permits spoke about their goals. In each case, the owners are the primary users of the home with occasional paying guests.

Concerns about Vacation Rentals that were discussed included noise, lack of awareness of fire risks and potential long term impact on property values. The group was polled about Vacation Rentals with about half the group opposed and the other half approving.

A motion was made for the Board to continue investigating Vacation Rentals. The motion did not pass.
