Emergency preparedness plan Still in Information gathering phase. Will break this plan down into four main categories:
  1. Emergency alert system (designed to assist in alerting residents in all types of emergencies)
    1. Call box system
      1. Detailed rollout plan including costs, training, maintenance
    2. Continue exploring additional systems/resources
  2. Secondary exits
  3. Vegetation management
    1. Set standards (13A county vegetation management ordinance)
    2. Non-compliant properties
    3. Annadel
    4. Fire break
  4. Home hardening
    1. Responsibility of each property owner

Kathie: to help overseeing the larger emergency plan and organization of rollout

Helen will contact Susan Gorin - discuss county laws around setbacks

Marilee: Can we get high level contact in Cal Fire - possibly Cyndi can help?

Marilee/Helen: Look for possible grants to assist with vegetation management, alert systems and related projects

Kathie: Will reach out to known contacts to find professional grant writer to help us with additional funding for vegetation management, alert systems and related projects

Kathie/Bill: will continue to work on researching/gathering information for emergency alert systems

Defensible space meeting this coming Thursday 12/6/18

Future discussions:

  • Need to look into how we can increase size of firebreak
Upcoming meeting about call box on 12/4/18

No definitive decisions will be made at this meeting. We are still in the information gathering stage and this meeting is a key component to this process. The board will reconvene after this meeting to collect information and decide how to move forward in an organized fashion.

Fire break donation to Bennett Valley Fire District Has not been delivered. Current check to be voided, as was written out to incorrect person. (check #106) Erik will write and deliver $500 check to fire department (check #109)
